The City College Scholars 1st General Assembly

The Oro Youth Development Council Faith-based youth sector assisted the Community Improvement Division and the KAALAM, the youth organization of the city college scholars during their first general assembly and election.

The leaders of the various faith-based organizations facilitated the fellowship and break-out sessions of the more than 600 scholars. The break-out sessions were intended to help KAALAM pin point and articulate pressing
issues for their strategic planning and intervention. The OYDC-Faith Based also helped in developing the tool for the needs assessment of the scholars.

The scholars were then divided per school year and per school. They elected a leader for each year level and these leaders will them elect among themselves their respective President, Vice-President and Secretary.

The OYDC-Faith based headed by Youth Councilor Jhing Guzmana heads the Youth Excel program. This is a life coaching, mentoring and tutorial program for the city scholars. It is designed to help them go through their college life with peer-support and direction.

The OYDC also assits the KAALAM in revising their constitution.

KAALAM is a member organization of the Oro Youth Development Council.
