The Kabatanonan sa Barangay 35 conducted its first youth
forum on reproductive health. Speakers came from the Population Commission,
which gave basic life coaching, and skills input. The City Health also gave an
input on reproductive health with a clear focus on Sexually transmitted diseases.
The forum, conducted inside the Barangay Hall session, was participated
by the youth leaders of Barangay 35. The barangay council has expressed deep
concern in the growing trend of teenage pregnancy in the barangay.
The youth officers shared that this is just the first of a
series of forums that would focus on reproductive health. They are aiming to
raise the level of education and awareness among the young so they can better
understand the consequences of their actions.
